Two poems by Hughes Mearns
The man who wasn't there
Yesterday upon the stair
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
I wish that man would go away.
The lady with technique
As I was letting down my hair
I met a guy who didn't care,
He didn't care again today -
I love 'em when they get that way!
